Watch LATAM New Safety Video for International Flights
LATAM world premiered on February 7, 2022, its new onboard safety video. Shot in Rio Grande do Norte, the film also features four other iconic destinations in South America: São Pedro de Atacama (Chile), Cusco (Peru), Cartagena (Colombia) and Galápagos (Ecuador). The new passenger orientation video is the company's first produced from external recordings, outside a conventional studio. In it, LATAM's own employees invite customers to travel without borders through the countries served by the company on the continent.
In addition to reinforcing safety protocols in a creative
and unusual way, the recording has the participation of 60 LATAM employees who
work in different areas of the company's affiliates in Brazil, Chile, Colombia,
Ecuador and Peru. They are the protagonists of the production, focused on local
representation and the diversity of each of the South American countries where
LATAM operates. The new video reinforces all safety measures required by
international regulations.
“Brazil is very well represented and we were able to present
all safety instructions in an engaging and creative way. In addition to using
the most fascinating scenarios in South America, we were able to include
LATAM's own employees, who represent this brand every day and are truly
responsible for offering support and safety to customers throughout their
trip”, says Amira Ayoub, Marketing Manager at LATAM Brazil.
Passengers on LATAM international flights operated with
Boeing 787 aircraft will be the first to see the new production, which will
also debut this February on international flights operated by Boeing 777 and
Boeing 767 aircraft.
LATAM in tune with people and South America
The launch of the new safety video marks the beginning of
a year with more localized campaigns for each country where LATAM operates. In
the case of Brazil, the recordings were made on the beaches of Tibau do Sul, in
Rio Grande do Norte, internationally known for harboring the famous Praia de
Pipa. Production in the state took place over two days in November 2021, at
Praia do Giz and Praia de Tibau do Sul.
To naturally present the peculiarities of the region, the
production sought to highlight characteristic elements such as costumes,
culture, residents and the local tourist activity itself, valuing the natural
beauty of its beaches. The work complied with all health safety protocols and
was supported by Emprotur (Empresa Potiguar for Tourism Promotion), responsible
for the logistics of the scenography team.
"The choice of Rio Grande do Norte as the destination
to represent Brazil in LATAM's new safety video is a concrete and assertive
result of relationship and strategic positioning. I am sure that we will
inspire many tourists to travel to our State and to Brazil" , explains
Bruno Reis, president of Emprotur, the state agency responsible for promoting
Rio Grande do Norte.
100% carbon neutral production
In keeping with its commitment to sustainability, LATAM
neutralized 100% of the carbon footprint generated in the production of the new
video. The neutralization took place through the CO2BIO project, which
preserves the Colombian Orinoquia, a strategic ecosystem for South America.
This means that LATAM managed to offset 73 tons of CO² that were emitted with
air and land transport, accommodation and food during production. of the video
in the 5 countries.
In the five countries in which it was shot, the film had a
lean team of 12 people, including director, art director, production assistant,
lighting, producer and production assistant. All work was carried out over 25
